Situated in the middle of the farm yard this 16th Century barn built from ancient ship’s timbers with open beam roof exposing the thatch is a step back in time.
The barn has had many lives, it was used for threshing grain in the 1920s before the combine harvester was invented.
There is a gentle ramp down half the length of the barn a remnant of the old days of growing potatoes with them being rolled down into the barn half a century ago. More recently it has been insulated and fitted with the modern luxury of radiators and Wi-fi. There is a toilet block in the adjacent building.
It is currently used for meetings, dinners, parties and occasionally weddings.
